At Pamela Kent Consulting, we empower organisations within the arts, cultural and heritage sector to think strategically and foster an audience-first mindset.

What We Do

Audience Insight and Development

Audience understanding and insight is the key to strategic marketing plans, programming and project development. I offer a range of audience insight support services to help you deliver impactful engagement plans. I can provide a framework for organisations to understand their current and potential audiences and ways to support growth and diversification.


Working with sector-specific resources Audience Spectrum, Audience Finder and with experience of Tessitura and Spektrix to understand your audience and translate the information into a useful insight report that is easy to follow and share. Additionally I can collate data to maximise your organisations chances of success with funding applications that quantify the need; utilising but not limited to CACI, Index of Multiple Deprivation Data, Sussex Community Foundation Data, ACE Engagement in Arts Dashboard and Active Lives Survey.


I can then work with your teams to develop this into a full Audience Development Strategy outling a forward plan for up to five years.  

Research, Engagement and Evaluation

Where data isn’t readily available I can work with you to develop and deliver primary research with current and potential audiences to engage with your community. Whether quantitative; surveys, statistics or qualitative; focus groups, interviews, creative methodologies I can support the exploration of specific barriers and aid strategic decision-making to remove them. Each project would include a report that enables you to use the insight gathered to plan effective community engagement or provide key information to apply for funding or complete funding evaluation reports.


I can further support in delivering the outlined actions within the report, coordinating and delivering effective community engagement to support project objectives, funding applications, or strategic research. Working with the local community and engaging with stakeholders to ensure fresh approaches based on audience needs.

Brand Identity Development

Supporting organisations to launch, refresh or embed a brand identity that people value and want to be part of. I work with you to align a brand strategy with your audience and strategic business plan to create opportunities for growth, to question and re-position your vision and mission to ensure it is audience centred, and how to position your audience in your planning. 


Through a process of consultation, workshops and stakeholder meetings the I can deliver a toolkit including; Naming, Brand architecture, Brand strategy, Vision, mission, values development, brand positioning and pillars, culture change and embedding, tone of voice and brand messaging

Communications and Campaign Planning

In order for a campaign to be truly successful it needs to be led by your research, data and marketing knowledge, informing and leading your planning and developing measures of success. I will work with your teams to devise research led campaigns that are creative, original and well structured for success. Providing a multi channel audit of your marketing channels to asertain what is working and what might be missing from your marketing mix. Outlining both digital and more traditional marketing channels with the potential greatest impact based on your audience data.


I can also offer support to increase press coverage. Through communications and the power of storytelling, I can support your organisation by raising your visability with impactful communication strategies that meet your objectives. From one off PR projects, retainers or press cultivation plans there are a number of ways to raise your profile.

Professional mentoring and leadership support

With fifteen years experience working in managerial roles and the last eight years in a senior leadership role I can support your marketing team members to develop their skills and maximise their professional impact, support them in defining their professional goals and how they can achieve them, develop new learning opportunities and support them in asertaining their own solutions to further their development.

I can offer practical solutions to streamline their working practices, leadership support, line management guidance and ways to support their teams as well as larger industry knowledge sharing.  This can be formed on a rolling basis or for a specific timeframe to support a transitional period for the employee. 

Fundraising and development

PKC are passionate about sharing your stories and ensuring your organisations' message and cause can reach the widest possible audience.
